Baseball Recap: Campbellsport Has No Trouble Against Omro

Campbellsport came out on top against Omro on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Foxes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Tuesday.

Braden Bothe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Campbellsport got a big performance out of Kyler Bowe, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zach Zimdahl, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Campbellsport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Campbellsport's win bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Omro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Campbellsport will challenge Grafton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Omro, they will take on North Fond du Lac at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
