The West Point Dragons will square off against the Skyline Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. West Point is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Shadow Ridge hit West Point with a ten-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons lost 17-7 to the Stallions. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Stallions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kenyer Martinez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. He is becoming a predictor of West Point's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 4-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Skyline didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain View last Thursday and fell 3-2.
Chase Gillmore put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Evan Becket was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Skyline, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-8.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Point hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Point skirted past Skyline 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
