Peyton and Simla are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Peyton Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Simla Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Peyton beat St. Mary's 60-50.
Michael Perry was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with five steals. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Breese, who scored eight points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Simla put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Sangre de Cristo at home to the tune of 55-19. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
Peyton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Simla, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Peyton lost to Simla on the road by a decisive 63-48 margin in their previous matchup on December 1st. Can Peyton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
