The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Battle Creek at home and fell 55-23. Lutheran-Northeast has not had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Defeat or not, Lutheran-Northeast got some senior leadership from Delaney Rose-hancock and Kendra Petersen. Rose-hancock scored 11 points, while Petersen. scored eight points.
It was another big night for Sami Wemhoff, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds for Battle Creek. Wemhoff has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Humphrey, who scored eight points.
Lutheran-Northeast's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Battle Creek, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran-Northeast's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Warriors at 6:15 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Fullerton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Battle Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordyn Ratzlaff and Wemhoff.
