The Troy Trojans lost against the Sidney Yellowjackets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Troy fell 40-29 to Sidney. Troy has struggled against Sidney recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Troy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley King, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Carmen Brooks who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season.
Troy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Troy's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Sidney, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Troy will head out on the road to challenge Tippecanoe at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Tippecanoe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Troy in Ohio (Tippecanoe is ranked 238th, while Troy is ranked 556th). As for Sidney, they will be playing at home against Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Xenia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday.
