The La Grange Leopards had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over Smithville. That result was just more of the same for these two, as La Grange also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Grange to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kylie Trlicek, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Trlicek has scored at least a third of La Grange's points. Another player making a difference was Victoria Harold, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
La Grange has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Smithville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Grange will take on Taylor at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 766 points over their last 11 contests. As for Smithville, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Manor New Tech at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Manor New Tech is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
