On Saturday, New Castle was beaten by Northeastern 69-34. While losing is never fun, New Castle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 351st, while Northeastern is ranked 142nd).
 Loss or not, New Castle got some senior leadership from  Morley Blessinger who  scored 11 points along with five  rebounds and  Emma Hart who  scored eight points along with five  assists. Those five  assists set a new season-high mark for her.
  Addisen Mastriano was  her usual excellent self,  scoring 20 points along with seven  rebounds and six  blocks for Northeastern. Those six  blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was  Ava Mikesell, who  scored 16 points along with five  steals.
 New Castle has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost seven of their last eight matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Northeastern, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
 New Castle will head out on the road to face off against Batesville at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Northeastern will be home for the holidays to greet  Connersville at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Connersville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
