Softball Recap: Juanita Wins Going Away Against Mercer Island

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Juanita). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mercer Island Islanders a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Juanita has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Mercer Island's loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juanita will square off against Bothell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mercer Island, they will take on Tyee at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
