Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Cougars vs. Philomath Warriors

Cascade is 9-1 against Philomath since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cascade Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Philomath Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Cascade is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Cascade can't be too worried about heading out to take on Philomath: they just beat Stayton at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Cascade had just enough and edged Stayton out 51-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Eagles are ranked 63rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Philomath suffered their closest loss since December 29, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of North Marion by a score of 51-48.

Philomath's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Cascade, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Cascade against Philomath in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 61-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cascade since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
