Coronado entered their tilt with Plainview on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Monday.

Matt Garcia and Phoenix Vera did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Vera scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three RBI gave Garcia a new career-high.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Coronado pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Plainview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

Coincidentally, Coronado and Plainview will both be playing Caprock the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
