The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Titans 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.
Torrey Pines wouldn't go down easily and took Poway into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 27-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12.
Zach Lau and Griffin Dieter were among the main playmakers for Torrey Pines as the former had 32 assists and six aces and the latter had 19 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Lau is now averaging an impressive 12.5 assists per game.
They weren't the only good server: Torrey Pines was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic earned a 3-1 victory over Clairemont on Friday.

Torrey Pines' win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Cathedral Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
