The Huntington Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Kountze Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, Kountze took care of business in their home opener last Friday. They took down Hemphill 37-20. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Kountze relied on the efforts of Camden Johnson, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and D'Keylind Taylor, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 61 yards. Draylen Coffey got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Kountze wouldn't let Hemphill keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Kountze can thank Mason Brothers and Cj Barrs for forcing both of them. Barrs also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
