Even though the Stratford Knights scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Goose Creek Gators still came out on top. Goose Creek took their game against Stratford 71-58. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Goose Creek also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Shane Potts, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Quell Brown, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Stratford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristion Swift, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nizhier Baldwin, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Goose Creek now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Stratford, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19.
Goose Creek will head out on the road to square off against Cane Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cane Bay is coming into the match with five straight victories at home, meaning Goose Creek will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Stratford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
