After flying high against the West Oso Bears last Friday, The Orange Grove Bulldogs came back down to earth. Orange Grove took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ingleside on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
When it comes to explaining why Orange Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 154 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Diego Garza, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Ingleside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydon Smith, who picked up 209 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Smith hasn't dropped below two receiving touchdowns for nine straight games. Ingleside also got a significant boost from Nathan Ambrose, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 119 yards.
Orange Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Ingleside, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Orange Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Robstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ingleside, they will head out on the road to face off against Sinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sinton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
