The Tri City Prep Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Verde Valley Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Tri City Prep humbled BASIS - Prescott with a 50-14 victory. The victory was just what Tri City Prep needed coming off of a 53-23 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Verde Valley earned a 48-40 victory over Our Lady of the Sun Academy on Thursday.
Verde Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelo Ayuel, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Ayuel's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zee Dickey, who scored 11 points.
The victory got Tri City Prep back to even at 1-1. As for Verde Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Tri City Prep against Verde Valley in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 58-20 victory. Does Tri City Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Verde Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
