It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The St. John-Vianney Lancers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 29-22 win over Asbury Park.
St. John-Vianney's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abdul Turay, who rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Jahmere James also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
St. John-Vianney's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Asbury Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
St. John-Vianney will head out on the road to face off against Immaculata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Asbury Park will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Neptune at 10:00 a.m. on November 18th.
