The Escambia County Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Rain Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Escambia County will be strutting in after a victory while Rain will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Escambia County made easy work of Flomaton and carried off a 73-47 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Escambia County.
Stephen Williams was on fire: he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Escambia County's points. Michael French was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 assists.
Meanwhile, Rain was the victim of a tough 73-48 loss at the hands of Vigor on Thursday. Rain has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Escambia County's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Flomaton's loss dropped them down to 0-3.
Escambia County was able to grind out a solid win over Rain in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 47-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Escambia County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
