The St. Pius X Sartans waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They claimed a resounding 62-27 win over Belen at home. St. Pius X has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaelynn Bob, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Jadarose Wright, who scored eight points.
St. Pius X pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Belen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pius X will take on Grants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grants will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 100th, while St. Pius X is ranked 11th). As for Belen, they will be playing at home against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
