The Thompson Valley Eagles will head out to challenge the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Thompson Valley will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Thompson Valley and Greeley Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles blew past the Wildcats 18-4 on Saturday. That looming 18-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Cameron Maki made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, Thompson Valley got a massive performance out of Sam Engelland, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The Eagles are 5-1 when Engelland posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Beau Balliet was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Thompson Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central only managed three hits.
Mountain View not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 19-0). Everything went their way against Thomas Jefferson as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mountain Lions as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Thompson Valley's record now sits at 9-11. As for Mountain View, their record is now 8-13.
Thompson Valley might still be hurting after the 31-22 loss they got from Mountain View when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
