If the Highland Scots were riding high off their 56-21 takedown of the Coast Union Broncos last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highland's rough 68-46 loss to Independence on Friday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Highland in their matchups with Independence: they've now lost five in a row.
AMARIUS "AR" ROWEL was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five assists for Independence. That makes it three consecutive games in which ROWEL has scored at least a third of Independence's points. The team also got some help courtesy of DAVIAN LEON, who scored 11 points.
Highland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
