It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northern Guilford had no problem doing just that on Friday. They really took it to the Asheville Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-13 win. Akers rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns while Leach rushed for 117 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Those 117 rushing yards gave Leach a new career-high. Northern Guilford also got a significant boost from Jaxson Kemp, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Northern Guilford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Northern Guilford's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.7 points over those games.
