The West Shamokin Wolves and the Penns Manor Comets will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for West Shamokin on the road against the Red Dragons as the team secured a 65-38 victory.
Meanwhile, Penns Manor beat the Panthers 53-42 on Tuesday. The win was just what Penns Manor needed coming off of a 68-46 defeat in their prior matchup.
Penns Manor relied on the efforts of Alex Polenik, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds, and Carter Smith, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Amin Lieb was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and six steals.
West Shamokin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Penns Manor, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.
Everything went West Shamokin's way against the Comets when the teams last played back in January as the Wolves made off with a 54-32 win. Does West Shamokin have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
