Belmont won the last time they faced Alcorn Central and Kylei Estes did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cardinals strolled past the Bears with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 22-6 thanks in part to Estes, who rushed for 135 yards and two scores. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

One reason for the win was Belmont's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Edward Little, Lathan Rogers, and Garrett Johnson, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Belmont's record now sits at 5-1. As for Alcorn Central, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Belmont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-14 defeat against Booneville on the 10th. As for Alcorn Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 20-14 win against Mantachie on the 10th.
