Max Heriford gave up the fewest hits he has since back in April of 2024 on Monday. He turned in nothing short of a gem, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mountain View is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

Heriford's effort led Mountain View over Payson and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Payson is limping into the matchup having lost three straight on the road. There's no doubt they're looking for a change of fortune, but will Heriford and Mountain View have enough to stop it?
