Richlands hadn't done well against Virginia High recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Tornado never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Blue Tornado: when they faced off against the Bearcats last Monday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

The result came thanks to Gage Hylton's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

Richlands is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Virginia High, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
