Jon Yeager made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Tyler Bennett was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chip Shelton, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Christian Academy of Knoxville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Christian Academy of Knoxville pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.
