The Miami Valley Rams waltzed into their contest on Saturday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They walked away with a 62-52 victory over Twin Valley South. This was payback for Miami Valley, who suffered a 70-29 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jacob Barnard was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Thomas Cook, who scored 12 points.
Twin Valley South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jandon Ankrom, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Ray, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Miami Valley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Twin Valley South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Valley will challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miami Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Legacy Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Twin Valley South, they will head out on the road to square off against Mississinawa Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Twin Valley South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
