Colonial - Liberty recap September 24, 2013
Isaiah Easterling and Shai Mumford provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lindenwold. The connection went for 62 yards, the longest such play in Colonial - Liberty this season.
Sterling moved up to 99 from 144 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Silver Knights climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Haddon Heights 28-0.
Joe Diaco was a passing and rushing force as West Deptford beat the Lions.
Diaco was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 139 yards on 7 carries as the Eagles defeated Haddon Township. Devin Bates also contributed to the rushing game with 111 yards on the ground.
Mike McLaughlin put up the best numbers through the air as Haddonfield bested Woodbury. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 123 yards and 3 touchdowns. McLaughlin's favorite target this week was Jacob Robinson, who caught 3 passes for 37 yards.
Robinson was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Bulldawgs topped the Thundering Herd. The 6-foot-3 junior nabbed 2 interceptions.
Copeland was the best receiver in Colonial - Liberty this week as the Panthers defeated the Hawks. Copeland tallied 4 receptions for 85 yards.
He was 10-17 with 2 interceptions.
5-foot-11 quarterback McLaughlin of Haddonfield is the league leader in passing yards this season with 238. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Copeland. The Collingswood star has 5 catches for 130 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Deptford takes on Overbrook. Clyde Folsom's team is currently in first, while the Rams are in fifth.
The Eagles took down Lindenwold 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Diaco during the win.
