After three games on the road, Central Cabarrus is heading back home. They will take on the South Rowan Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Central Cabarrus' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Central Cabarrus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 80-38 win over West Cabarrus. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.
Central Cabarrus had a senior duo take command as Carson Daniel scored 24 points along with 7 assists and 6 steals and DJ Kent Jr. dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Daniel's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josh Dalton, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Meanwhile, South Rowan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 85-36 defeat at the hands of Northwest Cabarrus. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Rowan in their matchups with Northwest Cabarrus: they've now lost nine in a row.
Their wins bumped Central Cabarrus to 3-0 and West Cabarrus to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for Central Cabarrus against South Rowan when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 89-32 win. Will Central Cabarrus repeat their success, or does South Rowan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
