The St. Joseph Falcons have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 63-53 to Elizabeth on Saturday. While losing is never fun, St. Joseph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Elizabeth is ranked eighth).
It was another big night for London Carson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds for Elizabeth. Carson hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden Johnson, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
St. Joseph has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for Elizabeth, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
St. Joseph will head out on the road to challenge Union City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elizabeth, they will be playing at home against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
