Basketball Recap: Evelyn Isaac Key Part of a Team Effort in Victors Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sports Leadership & Management, Miami Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 48-43 victory over the Palmer Trinity Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Victors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Miami Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evelyn Isaac out in front who posted nine points along with five assists and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Isaac a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Isabella Aversa, who had 11 points and five assists.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Esparza, who put up eight points in addition to nine assists and five boards. Esparza has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Aaliyah Wright was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Miami Christian pushed their record up to 14-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Palmer Trinity, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record.

Miami Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Schoolhouse Prep at 7:00 p.m. Schoolhouse Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Miami Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Palmer Trinity has already played their next matchup (against Archbishop Carroll), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
