After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rolesville, the Terry Sanford Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 49-45 W over Overhills. Given Terry Sanford's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Overhills is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Terry Sanford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breonna Roaf, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five steals. Roaf is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jaidiah Blake was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Overhills still got an impressive performance from Najiha Allen, who scored 27 points. The matchup was Allen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Mcrae, who scored five points along with four steals and four blocks.
Terry Sanford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Overhills, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Terry Sanford will be playing in front of their home fans against Triton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Overhills, they will head out on the road to face off against E.E. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
