The Fremont Tigers came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Bellevue East with a 64-58 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fremont was led to victory by Maurice Bryant and Coriahnn Gallatin. Bryant scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Gallatin scored 18 points along with two steals. Gallatin hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Harold Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Bellevue East's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kris Brown, who scored 16 points, and Ammi Williams who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Walker, who scored nine points.
Bellevue East struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fremont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Bellevue East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will challenge Grand Island at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Grand Island is ranked 175th, while Fremont is ranked 180th). As for Bellevue East, they will head out on the road to take on Millard South at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
