Fitch and Norwich Free Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Fitch Falcons will host the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fitch took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down New London 44-26.

Fitch found their leader in sophomore Synaa Waters, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Waters. Katherine Wenger was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norwich Free Academy). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 68-28 blowout they got against Pomperaug. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-15.
Norwich Free Academy's win came from a few key players Fitch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emily Orcutt, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Bay-Kent, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
Norwich Free Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 22 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Norwich Free Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fitch, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fitch has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Norwich Free Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fitch was able to grind out a solid victory over Norwich Free Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 42-34. Does Fitch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Norwich Free Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
