Softball Recap: Forest Lake Has No Trouble Against White Bear Lake

Forest Lake barely beat White Bear Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers blew past the Bears 9-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Avery Muellner was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Annika Antonson looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Olivia Hauer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Dowdall, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Forest Lake pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for White Bear Lake, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
