The Mansfield Christian Flames have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 30 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-48 win over South Central. For Mansfield Christian, this counts as revenge for the 52-44 loss South Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, South Central saw an underclassman step up: Bryan Chaffee scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Knoll, who scored six points along with three steals.
South Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Mansfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for South Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Christian will challenge Central Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Mapleton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
