Schlagle were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Washington 50-15. Schlagle were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Schlagle's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 42 first-half points. Washington countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 42-7 going into the half. The Schlagle defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 8 and all but finishing the match.
Both teams will be heading out of the conference in their next games. Next week Schlagle take on Basehor-Linwood at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Schlagle skips in on four wins and Basehor-Linwood on five. Washington will be staying on the road, facing off against Turner. Turner are limping into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
