Basketball Recap: Gavin Reed Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Columbus East

Shelbyville won the last time they faced Columbus East and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Shelbyville Golden Bears came out on top against the Columbus East Olympians by a score of 65-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Shelbyville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Reed, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Reed a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Cole Schene, who made all 5 shots he took for 11 points.

Columbus East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keaton Lawson, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Lawson is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Mason Reeves was another key player, putting up 11 points.
