Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). They enjoyed a cozy 77-62 victory over the Champion Golden Flashes on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their 22-point performance the game before.
Crestview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Best, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameson English, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists.
Best wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Crestview was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Champion's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Damien Wickham, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points, and Mike Miller, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Williams, who posted 14 points.
Crestview's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Champion, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
