Poplar Bluff has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Poplar Bluff's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Thursday, Poplar Bluff beat the Hornets 57-48.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Saxony Lutheran's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Notre Dame, falling 66-37. Saxony Lutheran has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Annie Adams, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Poplar Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Saxony Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Poplar Bluff skirted past the Crusaders 48-45 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poplar Bluff since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
