John Marshall is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing at home against the Thomas Jefferson Vikings at 5:30 p.m. John Marshall knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Thomas Jefferson likes a good challenge.
John Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Huguenot on Tuesday as they made off with a 26-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Justices in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.
Dwayne Ferrer and Jamarques Singleton-Davis were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ferrer pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Singleton-Davis struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ferrer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ferrer got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Singleton-Davis went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Singleton-Davis has snagged this season.

In other batting news, John Marshall got a massive performance out of Jaylen Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Oscar Carroll was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.
John Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson came up short against Hermitage on Tuesday, falling 14-4. The Vikings have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Markus Ingram was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Henderson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Thomas Jefferson fell to 2-1. As for John Marshall, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. John Marshall has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 12.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Thomas Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
John Marshall might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Thomas Jefferson in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Justices avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
