Despite the loss, Cardinal Gibbons saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Miller Kuss posted seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Leading Athens Drive to victory were Makenzie Kelly and Quincie Toran. Kelly dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten assists, while Toran went 8-for-13 on her way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Sheppard, who earned seven points and eight rebounds.
Cardinal Gibbons has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Athens Drive, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.
