The Community Baptist Conqueror will head out on the road to face off against the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Community Baptist is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Community Baptist were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Shining Light Academy on the road and fell 78-14. While losing is never fun, Community Baptist can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Shining Light Academy is ranked 170th).
Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Oak Ridge Military Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Durham Academy 67-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Community Baptist has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-4.
Community Baptist took a serious blow against Oak Ridge Military Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 91-60. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Community Baptist was down 46-21.
