The Lewis Cass Kings will face off against the Eastern Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Lewis Cass has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Wednesday, Lewis Cass needed a bit of extra time to put away Whitko. They won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 8-7. That's two games straight that the Kings have won by just one run.
Emily Baber looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Hubner, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddie Lynch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Lewis Cass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Eastern sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Carroll on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.
Emillia Andrews was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzea Causey, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Eastern's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Lewis Cass, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Lewis Cass came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastern in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 20-18. Will the Kings repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
