The Poteet Aggies had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 38-29 win over Pettus. For Poteet, this counts as revenge for the 36-26 loss Pettus walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Pettus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carmen Cantu, who scored five points along with three steals.
Poteet is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Pettus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poteet will take on Jourdanton at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Jourdanton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poteet in Texas (Jourdanton is ranked 429th, while Poteet is ranked 949th). As for Pettus, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Runge at 6:15 p.m.
