Marion has gone 7-1 against White Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Lakers at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Marion's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while White Lake has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Marion didn't have quite enough to beat Gresham Community and fell 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-15 in the first set.
Marion took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Marion's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madeline Wudstrack, who had 26 digs and four aces, and Sophia Wudstrack, who had five digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Sophia is now averaging an impressive 12.6 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Annika Jannusch, who had nine digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, White Lake came up short against Gresham Community on Thursday and fell 3-1. While the Lakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-21 in the first set.
White Lake started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.
White Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Marion was able to grind out a solid victory over White Lake in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
