East Carteret hadn't done well against Northside - Pinetown recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Mariners came out on top against the Panthers by a score of  3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Mariners sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
 East Carteret walked away with the   victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 21-25,  25-13.
 Vivian Kruczko paced East Carteret's offense, picking up 18 kills. Kruczko got some help from  Kolby Piner and her 48 assists.  Jenna Jackson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
The  win  got East Carteret back to even at 6-6. As for Northside - Pinetown, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Carteret will  challenge  rival Jones  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northside - Pinetown is set to  take on  their familiar foe Southside  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
