The Hancock Central Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Georgia Military College with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. That looming 52-36 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hancock Central yet this season.
Hancock Central was led to victory by Siauni Little and Jaliyah Hargrove. Little scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Hargrove almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Hargrove continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Key'Nya Scott, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Georgia Military College lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anniston Gore, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Corrinne Rudolph, who scored nine points.
The victory (which was Hancock Central's third in a row) raised their record to 3-13. As for Georgia Military College, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Washington County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. The timing is sure in Lake Oconee Academy's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Bulldogs have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
