West Central recap September 24, 2013
Center was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in West Central. Earlier in the week, the Yellowjackets defeated Arkansas City 28-6.
Warrensburg made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,142 from 12,557. The advance stemmed from a 48-0 victory over the Tigers last week.
St. Pius X's dynamic duo of Chris Beaubien and Nick Kelliher proved tough for Oak Grove to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Beaubien threw for 195 yards and Kelliher had 75 yards receiving. Joe McCoy helped St. Pius X's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 51 yards.
The Warriors' dynamic duo of Beaubien and Kelliher proved to be unstoppable against the Panthers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Tanner Perry was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 244 yards on 33 carries as Clinton lost to Oak Grove. Kieran Kuck also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.
Kelliher was the best receiver in the league this week as Rick Byers' team fell to Pat Richard's team.
Beaubien put up the best numbers through the air as the Warriors lost to the Panthers.
Perry was a force in the backfield as the Cardinals beat El Dorado Springs.
Perry provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Clinton defeated the Bulldogs.
5-foot-11 quarterback Beaubien of St. Pius X is the league leader in passing yards this season with 567. He has also thrown 5 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zach Drake. The O'Hara star has 9 catches for 232 yards.
The Warriors are currently in third, while Center is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when St. Pius X takes on Bryan DeLong's team. The Warriors have allowed 95 points this season, while the Yellowjackets have given up 50. St. Pius X allowed 28 points last week as it lost to Oak Grove.
Center led West Central in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on the Bulldogs.
