It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rosemont Wolverine had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Dixon 61-27 at home. Considering Rosemont has won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Cherry had a dynamite game for Rosemont, rushing for 241 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Alex "Pit" Rodriguez was another key contributor, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Loss or not, Dixon got some senior leadership from Jordan Sengmany who picked up 275 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Easton Valenzuela who threw for 408 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Sengmany's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards.
Rosemont now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Dixon, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Rosemont will take on Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Twelve Bridges will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
